Our Voices: Meet Jacob, a Residential Technician in Southern Connecticut

Throughout our Comcast Western New England Region, we have hundreds of technicians, engineers and other team members who live and work in the communities we serve, delivering our suite of Xfinity and Comcast Business products and services, including our fast, reliable network, locally.

One of those team members is Jacob, a residential technician who serves customers in several towns in southern Connecticut, including Ansonia and Seymour. We asked Jacob to tell us more about his career, commitment to customer service and his favorite Xfinity product. Read on to see what he has to say:

Q: How long have you been with Comcast?

A: I’ve been with Comcast for five years. During my time with the company, I’ve been impressed with the way we continue to invest in our network to accommodate our customer’s everyday needs, such as gaming, streaming and working virtually from home with reliable service.

Q: What’s the best part of your job?

A: The best parts about being a technician are working outdoors, learning new things daily and meeting new people and customers. Through this role, I’ve gained a lot of new technical skills and knowledge. With our company continuously rolling out new products and services, my team and I are always learning to keep up with the latest evolutions, powered by our Xfinity 10G Network.

Q: What’s something you do to provide a good customer experience?

A: I always put myself in my customer’s shoes to better understand what their needs are and to treat them the way I would want to be treated.

Q: What’s your personal favorite Xfinity product, feature or service and why?

A: My favorite Xfinity product is our X1 Voice Remote. I use it for literally everything – to find movies, channels and lots more without having to manually scroll along letters in a search box. It makes finding content so simple. Customers can even use it to find their Xfinity Mobile phone if it’s lost in their house, which is such a neat feature.

Q: What do you like best about the communities you serve?

A: My service area is primarily Ansonia, Derby, Seymour and Shelton, Connecticut. Not only is it a beautiful area to work, but I enjoy meeting the people who live and work there. I also live nearby, so we connect on a community level, such as sharing information on our favorite restaurants, places to visit and things to do.

Q: What are some hobbies you enjoy outside of work?

A: My favorite hobby is golf. Any chance I get, I like to go out there and play!
