Comcast Technicians from Longmeadow, MA

Throughout New England, Comcast has thousands of technicians, engineers and other team members who live and work in the communities we serve. These team members locally deliver our suite of Xfinity and Comcast Business services and maintain our fast, reliable, resilient and secure network.

Two members of the team are Daniel and David, both of Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Daniel is an Installation & Service Technician and David is an Installation & Service Supervisor. We asked them to tell us more about their roles, their communities, and their commitment to customer service. Read on to see what they have to say:

Q: How long have you been with Comcast and what is your role?

Daniel: I have been an Installation Technician with Comcast for over 17 years. I install Xfinity services in customers’ homes, connecting them to what’s important to them – whether it’s friends and family, news, entertainment and more.  

David: I am an Installation Supervisor and have been with Comcast for nearly 17 years. My main role is to support our installation technicians with whatever they may need, whether it’s helping them at a job site or providing career development coaching in the office. Every day is different and that’s what I love the most about my job!

Q: What’s the best part of your job?

Daniel: I love being able to problem-solve as a technician. For instance, if a home has a unique layout, it may take some creative thinking to determine where to route wiring and install equipment for the best experience. Also, the company benefits and family-like community that come with being a Comcast team member are added bonuses!

David: I lead a team of individuals with different backgrounds and goals and helping them to succeed is the best part of my role. I’m also proud to work for a supportive company where I can grow my career.

Q: What is something you do to provide a good customer experience?

Daniel: I always make sure to listen to my customers and keep an open dialogue.  I explain exactly what I’m doing and why so that I can ensure the customer understands the process as I’m installing services in their home. I also ensure they know how to use the equipment so they can get the most value from their products. I especially like to show our customers how easy it is to watch their favorite shows using the Xfinity Stream app, whether it’s on a smart device at home or on the go.

David: Open and honest communication is something I strive for during every interaction, both with our customers and with my colleagues. Our team is very collaborative, both amongst ourselves and with other departments, such as our network and customer service teams, which contributes to a positive customer experience.

Q: What does it mean to you to live and work in your community?

Daniel: Both living and working in Longmeadow is something that’s really special to me. I and am proud to be known as the “Comcast Guy” when I attend local sporting, school and community events.

David: As a Longmeadow resident, a sense of pride comes with seeing my company’s impact in my hometown – it’s what’s really great about working for Comcast. Whether Comcast is providing a local grant to support digital equity or Teaming UP to do volunteer projects, it means a lot to me that we have a commitment to support our local communities, like Longmeadow.

Q: What is your favorite Comcast product?

Daniel: I’m a big fan of our X1 video service! I love sitting down, flicking through channels and being able to watch a variety of different programming.

David: Our Xfinity Internet service is the product I’m most proud of because I believe we truly are the best in terms of reliability, security and speed [insert link to WMA Network Investment blog post]. Today, Internet is a part of daily life and Comcast’s commitment to continually providing the best in-home WiFi experience is why it’s my favorite product.

Q: What do you enjoy outside of work?

Daniel: I enjoy spending time with my beautiful family, whether we’re just relaxing at home or taking an impromptu trip to a big city! I’m also a self-proclaimed foodie and theme park nerd, including Universal Studios!

David: I love spending time with my amazing wife and two kids. They all keep me on my toes and making memories with them is the most important thing in my life!
