Our Voices: Meet Antolin, a Field Technician in Connecticut

Our Comcast employees live in the communities we serve and every day they’re making sure our customers have the best products, best network, and best customer experience. Antolin Abreu is proud of the Xfinity products he installs, and he enjoys teaching customers how to get the most from their services.

We spoke with Antolin about what he likes best about working for Comcast. Read the following Q&A to learn what he had to share.

Q. How long have you been with Comcast and what is your current role?
A. I’ve been with the company since 2018 and I work in the field installing Xfinity services in customer homes.

Q. What is the best part of your job?
A. The best part of my job is seeing how impressed new customers are when they experience our Xfinity products and services for the first time. We have incredible entertainment technology and I get a lot of satisfaction when I educate new customers about what our products can do, and how they can get the most from their services. Xfinity is not simply cable and/or Internet, there are a lot of extras included such as the Xfinity X1 Voice Remote, thousands of On-Demand Video and streaming options, as well as Xfinity xFi, which includes network security features for a customer’s in-home WiFi network.

Q. Tell us about how you make a difference in your role.
A. I recently did an installation for a gentleman in Bristol, CTwho had just bought his dad’s house. The customer was switching from another provider and he was so excited when we did the Xfinity Speed Test and he saw the marked improvement in his Internet speeds. I was proud to provide that service.

Q. What is your favorite Comcast product and why?
A. My favorite Comcast product is the Xfinity X1 Voice Remote. It makes finding and navigating content so easy. With a touch of a button and a few simple voice commands, I can find my favorite shows, search for movies to watch with my family, and more! For example, I can say “Free Family Movies” into the remote and it will call up a bunch of good options that are free to me that we can all enjoy together. When it comes to Internet, Xfinity xFi also adds a level of network security that gives me peace of mind when it comes to my kids being online. The feature lets me create accounts for everyone in my household and I can control when my kids are allowed to be online. I also use the parental controls to limit and monitor the types of websites they’re on.

Q. How do you give back to your community?
A. I enjoy participating in our company’s volunteer efforts. I’ve helped with beautification projects for local schools and non-profit organizations. On my own time, I also sometimes help out in the classrooms at Bunker Hill School in Waterbury where my kids attend school – I love it!
