Storm Prep: Staying on the Ball During Rough Weather

We’re used to wicked crazy weather in New England, but since the forecasted Nor’easter collides with Game 4 of the World Series, we’re keeping an extra close eye on the forecast.

We work to ready our systems and teams ahead of a storm, so we can best serve our customers when the weather gets rough. This includes positioning equipment and personnel in strategic locations so our field technicians can go out as soon as it’s safe to bring back any services that may be down due to extreme winds, flooding and other severe conditions.

Utilize Our Xfinity Apps

You can also prepare your devices and stay connected. Downloading these four Xfinity apps on your smartphone or tablet can help you keep in touch with what matters most – including the big game. With our Xfinity video service, you can watch live TV and thousands of shows and movies with the Xfinity Stream app on your smart device.

What Happens if There are Commercial Power Outages?

If your power goes out, your local utility provider must restore power before Xfinity services are restored and our technicians can safely start work in hard-hit areas. It is possible that power could return to your home, but damage to or loss of power to the Xfinity network serving your neighborhood continues to affect your services. We are committed to getting you up and running as soon as possible.

Also, make sure to protect your devices. Plug your TV, modem and cable box into a surge protector to protect them from damage in case of lightning or a sudden power outage.

For additional tips on how you can prepare your home and family for inclement weather, there are several resources such as Weather Ready Nation. You can also follow us on Twitter @ComcastNewEng to stay up-to-date on local alerts and events.

Comcast Business customers also have several options to stay connected during the storm.  Learn more here.

We’re big sports fans around here, and we know you are too. We hope everyone stays safe and connected.
