Celebrating a $6M Investment in Hartford, Connecticut’s Economic Future

For the City of Hartford, 2017 is a big year for advancing downtown redevelopment. One of the essential elements to making change possible for the city is creating greater access to reliable, high-capacity fiber services that offer multi-Gigabit Internet speeds. Last month, Comcast and United HealthCare Center at CityPlace celebrated the completion of a $6 million network expansion project that achieved just that.

As a result of Comcast’s largest fiber expansion project in Hartford to date, hundreds of downtown businesses, including CityPlace on Asylum Avenue and those along Pratt Street, where the need for high-speed data connectivity is in demand, are ready to be equipped with the company’s advanced network infrastructure, which is built for speed and provides a foundation for future innovation.

Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin applauded the project at ribbon cutting this week and stated: “this expansion will give more Hartford businesses access to first-rate digital infrastructure, enhancing their ability to grow and serve customers in the city and beyond.”
