Comcast and Sportsman Channel Team Up to Provide Game-Themed Dinner to Girls Inc. Families in Manchester
Comcast, Sportsman Channel, and Girls Inc. partnered to host the Hunt.Fish.Feed. national tour in Manchester, NH, providing a free, chef-prepared dinner to nearly 80 Club members and their families.
Now in its 17th year, Hunt.Fish.Feed. is a national initiative by Sportsman Channel that transforms responsibly harvested wild game and fish into nutritious meals for those facing food insecurity. The campaign has served over 42,000 meals across cities like Detroit, New Orleans, and Los Angeles—and now, Manchester.
Chef Paul Comes, a seasoned wild game chef, led the kitchen operations with the help of Comcast Team UP volunteers, who helped with meal prep and dinner service as well. The meal featured venison tacos, demonstrating that wild game venison can be a nutritious, kid-friendly and nutritious option.
Local leaders, includingManchester Mayor Jay Ruais, stopped by to great guests for dinner and joined Comcast in announcing a donation of 78 laptop computers to Girls Inc. of New Hampshire to advance digital opportunity in Manchester.
This marks the second consecutive year Comcast has partnered with Girls Inc. of New Hampshire to provide digital opportunities for families. This year’s donation was made at the specific request of the nonprofit to assist Manchester-based patrons in need of a device.
“We’re thrilled to gather our Girls Inc. families around the table for a delicious meal and an evening of connection,” said Sharron McCarthy, CEO of Girls Inc. of New Hampshire. “Thanks to Comcast’s generous gift of laptops, we’re also able to send our girls home with powerful tools to help them learn, grow, and thrive. It’s a night full of nourishment – both for the body and the future.”
“We’re proud to continue our commitment to Manchester by expanding digital access and supporting local families,” said Carolyne Hannan, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s New England Region. “Through the donation of laptops and our Hunt.Fish.Feed. initiative, our Team UP volunteers are helping to expand opportunity – online and around the dinner table.”
The donation from Comcast is part of Project UP, Comcast’s $1 billion commitment to connect people to the Internet, create digital opportunity, and build a future of unlimited possibilities. This commitment includes programs such as Internet Essentials, Lift Zones and Digital Navigators.
Launched in 2007 by the Sportsman Channel, Hunt.Fish.Feed continues to raise awareness of the ongoing hunger crisis in the United States. Comcast’s support of the Hunt.Fish.Feed. program builds on its long-standing commitment to history of community service and meaningful partnerships.
