Xfinity Connects Previously Unserved Maine Residents to High-Speed Internet

In partnership with the Maine Connectivity Authority’s (MCA) Reach Me Line Extension program, Xfinity expanded its network across its Maine footprint to connect previously unserved homes. As a result, more Mainers now have access to Comcast’s full suite of Xfinity services, including:
- Xfinity Internet – Offers gigabit Internet speeds to power streaming, gaming, videoconferencing, and more.
- Xfinity Mobile – Provides exclusive access to speeds up to 1 gigabit per second with WiFi PowerBoost when connected to millions of Xfinity WiFi hotspots nationwide.
- Xfinity X1 – Comcast’s video platform that delivers the ultimate entertainment experience with live TV, streaming apps, and voice control.
- Xfinity Home – Smart home solutions designed to give customers peace of mind, with options for both self-protection and professionally monitored home security.
“The completion of Comcast’s line extension project is the latest step to enable more Mainers to connect to fast, reliable and affordable Internet,” said Andrew Butcher, MCA President.
Area residents can learn more about our products and services by visiting Xfinity Stores at 336 Bath Road in Brunswick, Maine or 1600 Woodbury Avenue, Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This project connected previously unserved homes throughout the state to high-speed Internet as part of MCA’s Reach Me program – a statewide initiative aimed at expanding access to fast, reliable, and affordable Internet in Maine by providing grant funding for line extensions to unserved areas. The program leverages a combination of state and private funding to extend broadband infrastructure and ensure that eligible households have access to affordable Internet service.
“I’m proud of our local team for completing this Reach Me project on time and on budget in partnership with the Maine Connectivity Authority,” said Carolyne Hannan, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s New England Region. “We’re excited to bring more Mainers the benefits of our gigabit-speed network.”
What It Means for Maine
Comcast’s commitment to communities goes beyond building the network and aims to increase economic mobility for the local community and its residents. That’s why Comcast created Internet Essentials, a broadband adoption program that offers eligible households low-cost, high-speed Internet and affordable computers.
