Our Voices: Joshua Blends His Passion for Comcast Products with His Love for the Great Outdoors

Joshua's Comcast Story

This summer, our Comcast team has been hard at work keeping residents, vacationers, business owners, and communities across New England connected to what they love most — whether at home or while traveling. Our team members have many great stories to share, and one of them comes from Joshua, a product manager based in New Hampshire. Read on to find out how Joshua’s love of Xfinity products, especially Xfinity Mobile, helped him stay connected from the top of a volcano!

Q: Tell us a little about your role at Comcast.

A: I’ve been with Comcast since 2012. My job focuses on product operations and making sure our latest products and services deliver more value to our New England customers. This includes everything from testing out new features to getting them into the hands of our customers.

Q: What’s a recent product launch you’re excited about?

A: I’m most excited about a new mobile feature called Xfinity Call Guard because it filters and blocks spam calls before they even reach your phone.  With robocalls and phone scams becoming more sophisticated, it’s more important than ever to have tools that protect your privacy and give you control.

Q: What product do you think is most essential for customers?

A: Comcast’s connectivity tools, like Xfinity Internet, Xfinity Mobile, and our Xfinity WiFi Hotspots, are absolutely essential. Personally, I rely on Xfinity Mobile the most. My wife and I love to travel and hike, and we use Xfinity Mobile as our map, emergency connection, restaurant and activity finder, and peace of mind, all in one.

Q: Any memorable moments using Xfinity Mobile?

A: Yes! A few years ago, my wife and I climbed Mount St. Helens in Washington state. When we reached the summit, I wanted to share the moment with my dad and was amazed to find that I could live video-chat with him from the top of the volcano. We had a similar experience on Mount Kilauea in Hawaii. Xfinity Mobile coverage is that good, even thousands of miles from home and thousands of feet above sea level!

Q: What’s your personal favorite Xfinity product?

A: While I love Xfinity Mobile, I would still say Xfinity X1 is my personal favorite product. I’m a child of the ’80s, so I still enjoy flipping through TV channels. Plus, Xfinity X1 brings all my favorite streaming services together in one place, which makes it super easy to find something to watch.

Q: What summer-ready solutions would you recommend to customers?

A: In addition to the other products I talked about, our Xfinity Stream App is perfect for watching your favorite shows and movies on the go, whether you’re at the beach, a rustic cabin, or in my case, hiking and camping trips.
