Our Voices: Comcast Employees Team UP Across New England During National Volunteer Month and All Year Round

Supporting the communities we serve has been part of Comcast’s DNA for decades. Our work comes in many forms, including grant awards to organizations such as the Urban League of Springfield, MA and the Boys and Girls Club of Manchester, NH, creating opportunities for individuals to connect to the Internet; laptop donations in Southwick, MA, helping seniors boost digital skills; and organizing volunteer activities for employees to give back to our communities.
This volunteer effort, called Team UP, aims to help create long-lasting change in the communities we serve. The name, Team UP, underscores that our work has the greatest reach when we join forces, whether we’re teaching digital skills to seniors or stocking a food pantry. It also aligns with Project UP, our initiative to enable digital opportunity and build a future of unlimited possibilities.
In honor of April being National Volunteer Month, our team has been working with a variety of organizations throughout New England to make a positive impact. This includes:
- Partnering with the Council on Aging to host online safety sessions for local seniors in Haverhill, MA and Southwick, MA, and in Clairmont, NH.
- Helping veterans set up new laptops at Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center in Dorchester, MA.
- Serving dinner to the members of the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington, VT.
- Packing care packages with the United Way of Greater New Haven, CT to ensure students who face food insecurity have meals during spring break.
- Moving Girls, Inc. of Holyoke, MA to a temporary office in preparation for their renovation.
- Creating affirmation cards for Cradles to Crayons in Massachusetts to include in children’s backpacks.

Here’s what a few of our employees had to say about their volunteer experience:
Brad, Director of Community Impact in Berlin, CT: “Team UP is a great way for us to give back to the communities we serve while building relationships with our colleagues outside of the office. Supporting the impactful work of organizations throughout our region directly benefits our customers and contributes to the greater good, which makes me proud as an employee.”
Kayleigh, Manager of Customer Service Operations in Burlington, VT: “Comcast has built a strong relationship with the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington, Vermont. Serving the kids dinner was a great way for employees to support the meaningful work the Club does to help local kids to grow, learn and have fun.”
Kayla, Supervisor of Market Development in Manchester, NH: “Volunteering through Comcast connects me to something beyond my daily work. It means a lot to me that our company doesn’t just talk the talk when it comes to lifting up our communities – we walk the walk!”
Reynaldo, Construction Specialist in Milford, CT: “We’re invited to bring our families to participate at some of Comcast’s volunteering events, which has enabled me to share the importance of community service with my children. It’s a practice I value and one that instills in them the significance of giving back.”
