Comcast and Massachusetts Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs Host Gaming Event at Gillette Stadium for Youth Across Massachusetts

Comcast is a proud sponsor of the annual Massachusetts Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs E-Sports Tournament, which took place on April 24th at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough and included 14 Clubs from across eastern and western Massachusetts. Comcast Business provided Gig-speed WiFi for the gaming tournament, which ensured a fast and reliable experience for all participants.
Nearly 60 kids from participating Boys & Girls Clubs, including Boston, Fitchburg, Leominster and Springfield, competed to see who could go the fastest in this year’s “Mario Kart” themed event. Collin C., from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fitchburg & Leominster Gardner Clubhouse Club won this year’s gaming tournament.
Comcast has been a long-term partner of the Massachusetts Alliance of Boys & Girls Club. Recently, the MA Alliance received a $105,000 grant to enable Club staff to deliver digital skills training and support events like today’s annual tournament. Additionally, ahead of the tournament, participants took part in trainings around healthy gaming habits, character and team building skills to prepare the students for a fun, interactive video game competition.
“We’re so grateful for Comcast’s generous assistance and support over the last 10 years,” said Jennifer Aldworth, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs. “The fast and reliable Comcast Business connection made it an unforgettable experience for all of today’s tournament participants.”
“We are delighted to partner with the Massachusetts Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs and support today’s tournament,” said Carolyne Hannan, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s New England Region. “This event underscores our commitment providing resources to empower youth with digital skill-building and technology resources to help them build a future of unlimited possibilities.”
