WHAT’S NEW
- On October 11, Governor Ned Lamont and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Commissioner Katie Dykes awarded Comcast more than $21 million in grants to connect unserved homes and businesses across Connecticut to high-speed Internet services through DEEP’s ConneCTed Communities Grant Program.
- Through the public-partnership, and private capital, Comcast will extend our state-of-the-art network in 76 municipalities, including Canaan, Danbury, Essex, Middletown, New Haven, Norwich and Waterbury.
WHY IT MATTERS
- Expanding broadband access to unserved and underserved communities is at the heart of Comcast and the state of Connecticut’s shared mission to bridge the digital divide.
- This partnership will bring millions of dollars in investment to rural communities such as Canaan, Lakeville and Salisbury.
- This latest announcement deepens Comcast’s commitment to Connecticut and builds on Comcast-funded network expansion projects already occurring throughout the state, including a project to expand gigabit-speed Internet to nearly 73,000 homes and businesses in Stratford, Norwalk and Wilton.
MORE WAYS COMCAST IS INVESTING IN CONNECTICUT
