The sun’s been shining across New England! Let’s take a look at a few upcoming festivals in Connecticut and Vermont that we highly recommend taking advantage of before the humidity kicks in.
Family Day at International Festival of Arts & Ideas – June 17th
250 Temple St – New Haven, Connecticut
This year marks the 22nd anniversary of the New Haven International Festival of Arts & Ideas, which is presenting a wide variety of entertainment, including free concerts, exclusive performances, walking tours and tons of family fun across Elm City through June 24th.
One of the biggest days — Family Day – will feature line-up of incredible events on the New Haven Green, including open-air yoga and an all-style teen dance competition. Comcast and NBC Connecticut will also join together to bring NBC Connecticut’s on air talent to the New Haven Green with the First Alert 1 Mobile Weather Jeep, Despicable Me 3 giveaways and a Minion-themed photo booth for festival-goers to take pictures.
Throughout the Festival, also keep an eye out for Xfinity WiFi on Wheels, which will appear on the New Haven Green during several events to provide open Wi-Fi access.
Travelers Championship – June 19th – 25th
1 Golf Club Road – Cromwell, Connecticut
One week each year Connecticut welcomes the world’s best golfers and thousands of energized fans for the state’s legendary PGA TOUR event, the Travelers Championship. As the largest professional sporting event in New England, this is a must-attend event– even if you’ve not an avid golf fan.
For those looking for more than golf, there is tons of entertainment for all ages like the Farmington Bank Celebrity Mini Golf Tournament and the Fan Zone, where food, drinks, live music and the Xfinity tent can be found, complete with X1 TVs and smartphone charging stations.
Quechee Hot Air Balloon Craft and Music Festival – June 16th – 18th
70 Village Green – White River Junction, Vermont
This spectacular event is the longest running hot air balloon festival in New England. Five flights of 20 hot air balloons are scheduled, in addition to music and entertainment for all ages, over 60 craft artisan vendors and children’s activities that include Euro Bungee, a Rock Climbing wall and a bounce house.
During the event, make sure to take and post pictures online, which you’ll be able to do with ease, thanks to the free Xfinity WiFi that is being provided for all attendees. Not only will you have tons of Insta-worthy moments at this festival, but we heard there is a photo contest with prizes.
Burlington Wine & Food Festival – June 24th
20 Lake Street – Burlington, Vermont
The Burlington Wine & Food Festival is the ultimate festival for wine lovers, foodies and those who are hungry for adventure in New England. This is your chance to try top varietals from award-winning winemakers across the globe, plus featured menu items from Vermont’s favorite restaurants, like Hen of The Wood and The Bearded Frog.
As a supporter of this festival every year, Xfinity has a pro-tip for you: make sure to check out the Seminar Tent as soon as you arrive and reserve a seat for a session that interests you.
