New England Communities Rally Behind Comcast Cares Day

Comcast Cares Day is more than just a day–it’s the culmination of Comcast NBCUniversal’s year-long commitment to volunteerism, which began when the company was founded more than 50 years ago. This year, more than 100,000 volunteers participated in nearly 1,000 projects across the globe.

Throughout New England, several thousand Comcast NBCUniversal employees, family members, friends and community partners volunteered at over 100 project sites for the 16th Comcast Cares Day.

Here are a few ways volunteers made change happen in Connecticut, Vermont and Massachusetts:

In Hartford, CT, newly appointed Comcast Cable CEO Dave Watson joined more than 400 volunteers at Sarah J. Rawson STEAM Elementary School to work on indoor and outdoor beautification projects, including a makeover of the school’s VEX Robotics room.  As a wonderful surprise to all, Dave Watson additionally gave Rawson a grant for $25,000, courtesy of the Comcast Foundation.
